MORGAN MARINELLI

Morgan Marinelli is beautiful 9 year old with large ambitions and dreams!  She loves to learn about and research new things everyday.  She loves to go running and is learning to sail with her dad.  She loves to play with and teach her little sister new things and she loves to relax on the couch with her mom each evening while watching TV and getting her back rubbed.

Morgan has amazed us everyday of her life with the things she says and has accomplished.  At the age of 5 she would tell us that one day she would make medicines to make kids feel better. At the age of 6 she let us know that all these medicines would taste good.  Today, she doesn't want to just make medicines, she wants to discover new Marine species in the hopes of saving the ocean population and also finding a way to use these animals and plant life to save our world.

On September 11, 2007.  At the age of 6 and after weeks of doctor appointments and hospital visits, Morgan was diagnosed with Stage IV Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

At the time of her diagnosis we were told that she would be receiving treatments for 6-12 months.  In the end Morgan's treatments only took a total of 5 months and she returned to school exactly 6 months from the date of her diagnosis.

This weekend is the anniversary of when our world was turned upside down, but is also the anniversary of when our family learned that we could survive anything and grow closer in the process.  Our hopes for Remission Run is that with the help of the funds that are raised, one day we will find not only the cure for cancer, but the preventative!  We hope that some day there will be NO childhood cancer and there will not be little 6 year old girls losing their hair and missing nearly all of first grade.  We hope that our friends will not lose another sibling to this disease and we hope that one day children will not lose their parents.

We want to thank Bill Crews Remission Run for all their efforts in raising not only funds to find a cure but raising awareness to those around us!

 Thank you from the Marinellis
